Backstory:
Fatherly Failure is a band that was born out of the raw emotion and shared experiences of four talented musicians – Jimmy, Luke, Ethan, and Mark. All having fatherly figures who were less than ideal role models, they came together through a mutual love of music, using it as an outlet to express their emotions and connect with others who may have had similar experiences. Operating out of a cramped garage in the outskirts of Seattle, Washington, their passion for music led them to create a band in 2010. They started off playing in local bars, eventually working their way up to music festivals and international tours. Fatherly Failure has become a beacon for those grappling with complicated paternal relationships, their music resonating deeply with an array of fans worldwide.

Title:
“Broken Picture Frames”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[C] Broken picture [G] frames, haunted [Am] memories, [Em]
[F] Shadows of a [C] past, that [G] just won’t let me [C] be.
[C] A father’s face [G] unknown, a [Am] hole inside my [Em] heart,
[F] Empty places [C] echoed in our [G] home, [C] tearing us [G] apart.
(Chorus)
[F] Fatherly Failure, [C] your absence is a [G] wound,
[Am] You left us alone, [Em] too [F] early, too [C] soon.
[F] You’re a ghost in our [C] mirrors, [G] a stain we can’t [Am] hide,
[Em] We wear your sins as [F] scars, in your [C] shadow we [G] reside.
(Verse 2)
[C] Echoes of your [G] laughter, [Am] sounds we never [Em] knew,
[F] We’re the aftermath, [C] still paying for [G] mistakes made by [C] you.
[C] Searching for a [G] love, that [Am] never really [Em] came,
[F] Left behind, [C] we’re strumming to the [G] rhythm of your [C] pain.
(Chorus)
[F] Fatherly Failure, [C] your silence left a [G] mark,
[Am] We’re the ones left, [Em] singing in the [F] dark.
[F] We’ve played your bitter [C] melodies, [G] sung your lonesome [Am] tune,
[Em] It’s a song of your [F] absence, under a [C] cold and distant [G] moon.

Sarah’s Testimonial:
“Fatherly Failure is my favorite band because their music speaks to me on a personal level. The raw emotion and honesty in their songs hit home for me, as I too grew up with a father who wasn’t present. Their music has become a source of comfort and understanding, a balm for the wounds left behind. When I listen to their songs, I feel seen and heard. Not many bands can stir such powerful emotions and make you feel like you’re not alone in your struggle. Fatherly Failure does that, and for this reason, they will always be my favorite band.”
