Backstory:
Smug Reflection found its origin in the heart of New York City, when four college friends decided to turn their dormitory jam sessions into something more substantial. As a form of escape from their rigorous academic lives, they found solace in crafting music that resonated with their shared experiences. Lead vocalist and bass player, Jason “Jazzy J” Michaels, guitarist and backup vocalist, Brad “Shredder” Townsend, drummer, “Silent” Simon Bellamy, and keyboardist, Luke “Ivory Fingers” Robinson, spent countless hours balancing their studies and their passion for music. After graduation, they made a pact to pursue their musical dreams, thus giving birth to Smug Reflection.
Their journey was far from smooth, with struggles of finding a suitable recording studio, getting their music heard, and working odd jobs to fund their dream. However, their perseverance finally paid off when their indie demo landed in the hands of a reputable record producer, leading to their first record deal. From there, Smug Reflection started gaining ground, their music reaching audiences far and wide, making an impact with their raw lyrics and captivating melodies.

Title:
“Glass Eyes”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em C G D
Look in the mirror, see the glass eyes,
Em C G D
Reflections of a heart that no longer sighs.
Em C G D
Broken dreams and whispered goodbyes,
Em C G D
Trapped within these cold city skies.
(Chorus)
Em C G D
Glass eyes, tell me your stories,
Em C G D
Of love lost and faded glories.
Em C G D
In the smug reflection, I find my truths,
Em C G D
Born from the recklessness of our youths.
(Verse 2)
Em C G D
Touched by shadows, kissed by the moon,
Em C G D
Living life like a discordant tune.
Em C G D
Seeking solace, but finding none,
Em C G D
In the glass eyes, the damage is done.
(Chorus)
Em C G D
Glass eyes, we share our sorrows,
Em C G D
Hoping for brighter tomorrows.
Em C G D
In the smug reflection, we see our fears,
Em C G D
Drowning in a sea of unshed tears.
(Outro)
Em C G D
Glass eyes, smug reflection,
Em C G D
Mirror of our introspection.
Em C G D
In you we find our lost direction,
Em C G D
In the silence of your perfect imperfection.
