Backstory:
Well-Informed Logic came about in the bustling college town of Berkeley, California, during the height of the tech bubble in the late 90s. The core members, Alexander “Xander” Kingsley, a physics major and adept keyboardist, and Lora Simmons, a philosophy student and skilled vocalist, met during a late-night jam session at a local coffee house. They found that their distinct academic backgrounds fuelled exciting conversation, which spilled over into their music. Their shared passion for making complex concepts accessible through music led to the formation of Well-Informed Logic. Joined by drummer, Ethan “E” Blaine, a mathematics prodigy, and bass guitarist, Sarah “Saz” Morse, an English literature enthusiast, the band was complete.
Their journey was initially slow, punctuated by college gigs, local performances, and small music festivals. However, their popularity exploded when they won a statewide Battle of the Bands, leading to their music reaching a broader audience. Their thought-provoking lyrics, combined with intricate compositions, struck a chord with listeners, making Well-Informed Logic a band to reckon with on the indie music scene.

“As a physics teacher and longtime music lover, Well-Informed Logic is my favorite band. Their music is not just great to listen to, but it also helps me explain complex concepts to my students in a relatable way. Their track ‘Quantum Love’ is particularly close to my heart – I’ve used it to explain quantum entanglement! I’ve been following them since their early days, and it’s heartening to see how they’ve grown while keeping their unique blend of intellect and music intact. They’re simply the best, and they’ve made science cool for my students!”
