Awful Workshop

Backstory:
Awful Workshop was formed on a cold winter evening in the heart of Brooklyn, New York by a group of friends who shared a mutual love for music and a distaste for the mainstream music industry. Comprised of lead vocalist and songwriter Charlie “Chaz” Donovan, guitarist and back-up vocalist Samantha “Sammy” Lane, bassist Jake “Jazz Hands” Henderson, and drummer Neil “Sticks” Martinez, the band was born out of a desire to create something raw, authentic, and unlike anything on the radio. They named their band Awful Workshop as a tongue-in-cheek nod to their initially terrible music-making efforts in Sammy’s parents’ garage, their first “workshop.”

Over the years, their musical talents grew, but they never forgot their roots. Their music is a blend of personal experiences, raw emotions, and social commentary, reflecting their unconventional journey in the music industry. Despite their humble beginnings and offbeat name, Awful Workshop has become a beacon of hope for fans who crave something different from mainstream music.

“Scrapyard Melody”

Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Down in the scrapyard, beneath the [Em] city lights, (G Em)
[C] We found our voices in the [D] dead of night. (C D)
[G] Strings tied to our hearts, we played our [Em] part,
[C] In this awful workshop, where we [D] made our start. (C D)

(Chorus)
[G] In our scrapyard melody, we [Em] found our tune,
[C] Amidst the rust and memories, under the [D] silver moon.
[G] With every strum, every beat, every [Em] heartfelt sigh,
[C] We composed our lives in this [D] workshop, under the [G] starry sky. (G)

(Verse 2)
[G] We sang of love, we sang of [Em] pain,
[C] Our lyrics whispering like the [D] softest rain.
[G] Our music echoed in the [Em] alley’s heart,
[C] In this awful workshop, where we [D] left our mark. (C D)

(Chorus)
[G] Our scrapyard melody, a [Em] symphony so bold,
[C] We stitched our dreams into the [D] music we hold.
[G] From the steel strings of our guitars, to the [Em] drum’s fervent cry,
[C] We found our purpose in this [D] workshop, under the [G] endless sky. (G)
