Grimy Knife

Backstory:
Grimy Knife was formed in the gritty alleys of Brooklyn, New York, in 2011. The members of the band, previously solo artists who performed in underground bars and clubs, happened upon each other during a late-night jam session. Feeling an instant kinship and shared musical vision, they decided to join forces and create music unlike anything they had done before. Despite their diverse backgrounds, they found a common passion in their love for hard-hitting, soul-piercing tunes. The band’s name, Grimy Knife, was inspired by the raw, unfiltered, and cutting-edge music they aspired to create, reflecting the rough edges of their urban backgrounds.

Title:
“Steel Rain”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1) [Dm, C, Bb, A]
In the city’s heart the steel rain falls,
Against the echo of the midnight calls,
We’re all out here, playing the fools,
Chasing shadows, breaking the rules.

(Chorus) [F, C, Dm, A]
Steel rain, wash away the pain,
Through the heartache, through the disdain,
In the silence of the night, we find our fight,
In the steel rain, under the city light.

(Verse 2) [Dm, C, Bb, A]
Grimy streets echo lonely hearts,
In the city where the dreamer starts,
Under neon signs, we make our stand,
With the rhythm of the night, we command.

(Chorus) [F, C, Dm, A]
Steel rain, cleanse our tainted souls,
Through the chaos, through the tolls,
In the noise of the night, we ignite,
In the steel rain, we take flight.

(Bridge) [Bb, C, Dm, A]
Amid the noise and chaos, we find our voice,
In the grimy alleys, we make our choice.

(Chorus/Outro) [F, C, Dm, A]
Steel rain, bring us to the dawn,
Through the darkness, through the forlorn,
In the heart of the night, we hold tight,
In the steel rain, we find the light.

Fan Profile:
The band’s favorite fan is named Billy “Sidewalk” Thompson. Billy, a freelance artist, has been following Grimy Knife since their first underground performance. He claims, “Grimy Knife isn’t just a band to me, they’re a lifeline, a beacon in the bleak cityscape. Their music speaks volumes about our lives in the urban jungle. Every chord, every lyric resonates with the struggle and resilience we experience every day. They’re raw, real, and unapologetic, and that’s why I love them.”
