Backstory:
Loathsome Trade was born out of the bustling music scene in the heartland of Melbourne, Australia. Best friends since middle school, lead singer Jesse James and guitarist Toby Davis, would spend countless hours jamming out in their neighborhood’s garage. Both lovers of music, they decided to give their passion a professional turn while in their high school sophomore year. With the addition of drummer Harry Smith and bass guitarist Oliver McCarthy, the quartet was complete, and Loathsome Trade was officially formed. The band focuses on expressing the darker side of life, finding beauty among the ashes of despair and transforming it into their unique sound.
Genre:
Loathsome Trade can best be defined as a blend of grunge rock and alternative metal. Their music is raw and unpredictable, like the environment from where they hail. Their performances are riveting, with the ability to hold audiences spellbound with their energy and emotional depth.
