Backstory:
Quarterly Stance was formed in a garage in Bristol, England, in the cold winter of 2006. Four music enthusiasts, each from a different musical background, found themselves living in the same flat during their third year at Bristol University. As they spent countless nights discussing music, they realized that they shared a common ground – a love for intricate melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. It didn’t take long before their shared passion turned into a unique musical project, which later became known as “Quarterly Stance.”
The band comprises human rights law student turned singer-songwriter, Alice; avant-garde jazz enthusiast and bassist, Ben; classical violinist and keyboardist, Charlie; and punk rocker turned drummer, Danny. Individually, they are eccentric; together, they are an inimitable force. Their shared flat’s living room became their studio, where they spent long hours writing, composing, and recording their own unique blend of music, refining their sound over the years.

Title: “Seasons in Reverse”
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
C G
Underneath the winter sky,
Am Em
In your eyes, I found a lie.
F C
Spring had lost its vibrant hue,
G C
Summer days were far and few.
[Chorus]
F C
Oh the seasons in reverse,
G C
Our love, a rehearsed verse.
F C
Autumn leaves, they fell too soon,
G C
Like our hearts, out of tune.
[Verse 2]
C G
As the spring tried to bloom,
Am Em
Our love was confined to your room.
F C
In the summer’s burning heat,
G C
We found solace in defeat.
[Chorus]
F C
Oh the seasons in reverse,
G C
Caught in love’s adverse curse.
F C
Through autumn’s golden rain,
G C
We found love in our pain.
[Bridge]
Am G
The seasons might change,
F C
But our love stays the same.
[Chorus]
F C
Oh the seasons in reverse,
G C
Our love, the universe.
F C
Winter’s cold, spring’s rebirth,
G C
In your arms, I found my worth.

It’s the kind of music that you listen to on a rainy day, in a cozy corner with a warm cup of tea. Their lyrics make you ponder about life and love. There’s something incredibly raw and genuine about their music. The blend of their respective musical backgrounds creates a sound that’s unlike anything I’ve heard before. It’s enchanting, captivating, and refreshing.
