Elderly Creature

Backstory:

Formed in the heart of New Orleans in 2006, Elderly Creature was born from the shared passion for music of three childhood friends – Jaxon “Jazzy” Simmons, Theodore “Teddy” Broussard, and Liam “Lenny” Lennox. Having grown up together through the trials and tribulations of life, these three musicians found solace and expression in the language of music. The trio started their journey playing local gigs in coffee shops, pubs, and busking in the streets of the French Quarter. Their unique sound, combined with their humble beginnings, quickly garnered the attention of locals, tourists, and eventually, record labels. They signed with Blue Moon Records in 2010 and as they say, the rest is history.

Genre:

Elderly Creature blurs the lines between Jazz and Blues. Their music is a unique fusion of these two styles, incorporating the complex musicality of jazz with the raw emotional power of the blues. This style has been dubbed by fans and critics as “Jazz-Blues Fusion.”

Title:

Their biggest hit to date is “Rays of the Setting Sun.”

Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression:

(Verse – Dm, G7, Cmaj7)

(Dm)In the quiet of the evening, (G7)underneath the orange sky,
(Cmaj7)We’re just two old souls, dancing as the world passes by.
(Dm)You’ve got that rhythm in your bones, (G7)and that spark in your eye,
(Cmaj7)And we move together, under the rays of the setting sun, oh my.

(Chorus – Fmaj7, Bm7b5, E7, Am7)

(Fmaj7)I’ve seen love in many forms, (Bm7b5)in many a moon’s rise,
(E7)But none compares to the way (Am7)your love shines in my eyes.
(Fmaj7)Oh, as the sun dips low, (Bm7b5)our shadows blend into one,
(E7)And we’ll keep dancing (Am7)under the rays of the setting sun.

(Repeat Verse and Chorus)

Testimonial:

“I’ve been around for a long time, seen a lot of music, but none has ever stirred my soul the way Elderly Creature’s does. Their music, it’s like a warm embrace. It takes me back to younger days yet keeps me grounded in the present. These boys, they’re not just musicians. They’re poets, storytellers. They weave tales of love, loss, hope and life through their songs. I couldn’t imagine my life without their music. It’s food for my soul.” – Miss Rosie.
