Backstory:
Imperturbable Curriculum is an artful assembly of four high school friends from the small town of Benton, Kentucky, who discovered their shared passion for music during their literature class. The band’s name, Imperturbable Curriculum, is a fun jab at their monotonous school curriculum, which they managed to overcome through their shared love for music. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Jason Howard, drummer, Dominic Payne, bassist, Ellie Murphy, and keyboardist, Calvin Jones. They began their musical journey in 2010 by performing in local pubs and cafes, eventually garnering a devoted local following.
In 2015, they were discovered by a talent scout during a music festival in Austin, Texas. What followed was a whirlwind of opportunities that propelled them into the indie music scene. Despite their rapid rise to fame, the band has managed to stay true to their roots, often infusing their songs with nostalgic references to their high school days and their journey together as a band.
