Monstrous Sink

Backstory:
Monstrous Sink began their journey as a band in the small town of Biddeford, Maine. The four members, Billy, Jake, Terry, and Wendy, worked together at a local thrift store where they discovered a shared love for music from the late ’60s and early ’70s. The band was formed in the back room of the store, amidst dusty old records and vintage clothing. After hours, they would transform the store into a makeshift studio, creating what would eventually become their signature sound.

Unable to afford a professional recording studio, the band decided to record their first album in the thrift store itself, using whatever instruments and recording equipment they could find. This gave their music a unique, gritty quality which attracted a cult following. The name Monstrous Sink came from an old, dilapidated sink in the store that always seemed to overflow and cause a mess, much like the raw and uncontained energy of their music.

Genre:
Garage Rock / Psychedelic Rock

Favorite Fan:
Our number one fan is Mandy, a local waitress from Biddeford who has been with us since our thrift store days. She says, “Monstrous Sink is my favorite band because their music is a trip down memory lane. The raw, vintage sound, combined with their heartfelt lyrics, always takes me back to a simpler time. It’s a beautiful chaos, just like the thrift store where they started. They’re the heart and soul of our little town, a true testament to the fact that music can come from the most unexpected places.”
