Scaly Popcorn

Backstory:
Scaly Popcorn is a group of four friends from the quirky town of Auburn, Alabama. The band members met during their high school drama classes and realized they all share a passion for music, dragons, and, oddly enough, popcorn. One day, while hanging out at their favorite local cinema, they found an old, abandoned popcorn machine in a corner. They decided to paint it with a dragon-inspired design, and that’s when the band name “Scaly Popcorn” was born. Their odd yet catchy name mirrored their unique blend of music and theatrical performance. They started performing in college bars and small gigs around town, quickly gaining popularity and moving onto larger venues. Their outlandish stage presence, paired with their unique sound, has had audiences raving about their shows.

Title: “Dragon’s Breath on a Sunday Afternoon”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em
Underneath a sapphire sky,
G
Where the dragon flies, we lay,
C
With popcorn strings, and hidden things,
D
On a silent Sunday play.

(Verse 2)
Em
Running through the emerald field,
G
In dreams that are so surreal,
C
Chasing the tales of dragons’ trails,
D
Underneath the summer’s zeal.

(Chorus)
G C
Oh, there’s nothing like the dragon’s breath,
Em D
On a lazy Sunday afternoon,
G C
With the popcorn popping, time’s stopping,
Em D
And the music playing our tune.

(Repeat Verse 1, Verse 2, and Chorus)

(Outro)
Em D
As the sun sets, and the stars align,
G C
With the dragon’s breath, we intertwine,
Em D
And the popcorn’s scent, leaves an imprint,
G C
On a Sunday afternoon’s design.

“Maggie Johnson here, Scaly Popcorn’s number one fan! Their unique fusion of folk-rock just strikes a chord with me. I can’t help but sway along to every tune. ‘Dragon’s Breath on a Sunday Afternoon’ is my absolute favorite. It transports me to a magical world where dragons are real, and popcorn is more than just a snack. The way they blend the mythical with the mundane is just brilliant. I’ve been to all their gigs – the energy, the music, the theatricality – it’s an incredible experience. I can’t wait for their next concert; I’m sure it’s gonna be epic!”
