Backstory:
Dependent Field was formed in the small town of Dutch Hollow, Wisconsin, in the early 2000s. Childhood friends, lead vocalist and guitarist, Ethan Williams, bassist and backing vocalist, Toby Martin, drummer, Leo Grant, and keyboardist, Jason Marsh came together with a shared passion for music that wasn’t confined by genre rules. They started as a garage band, honing their craft and learning to balance their distinctive musical styles in the echoic space of Ethan’s father’s old barn. Their struggle to be heard led to their breakthrough 2005 gig at the local music festival, where their unique sound attracted the attention of a traveling talent scout.
There was no looking back for Dependent Field after that life-altering festival. They soon found themselves recording their debut album in a professional studio, and the rest is history. The band’s name was inspired by a physics concept which represented their interdependence on each other, highlighting the idea that each member’s individual strength was amplified when combined with the others.

Luna Thompson. Luna is a physics student who appreciated the band’s name and the idea behind it. She first discovered Dependent Field during a study break and was instantly captivated by their unique sound.
