Backstory:
Purple Hour was formed in the heart of Chicago in 2014 by four childhood friends, Alex Thompson (lead vocals, guitar), Sammy Davis (drummer), Jessica White (lead guitarist), and Robby Miller (bassist). The four bonded over their mutual love for rock music and a shared ambition to make it big in the music industry. Alex, the primary songwriter, drew inspiration from the confusion and heartache of his early twenties, instilling a raw and deeply moving quality into Purple Hour’s music. The band’s journey was rocky, but their passion and commitment to their sound and each other saw them through. They made their breakthrough in 2017 with their self-titled debut album, which resonated with listeners worldwide.

Fan Testimonial:
The band’s favorite fan name is Kelly Peterson, an art student from their hometown, Chicago. Kelly says, “Purple Hour is not just a band to me; they’re my story, my beats, my emotions. Alex’s lyrics speak what my heart feels but my words cannot express. Their music is like a comforting friend, always there in good times and bad. Sammy’s drumming, Jessica’s guitar solos, Robby’s bass lines, they all add up to the magic of Purple Hour. They are my favorite because they’re real, they’re raw, they’re relatable and they’re incredibly talented.”
