Backstory:
Silent Camera was formed in the small coastal town of Santa Cruz in the year 2004. The band members, childhood friends, had a shared passion for music and photography, which led to the creation of the band. Their favorite pastime was venturing out into the quiet, tranquil woods, capturing its beauty through their lenses and turning these images into hauntingly beautiful music. The name “Silent Camera” was chosen as a metaphor for their mission: to observe, capture, and translate life’s profound moments into sound.

The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist James Mercer, drummer Jackson Smith, bassist Riley Dawson, and keyboardist Amelia Kurtz. They hold a deep bond, each bringing their unique talent and vision to the group. Their creativity and camaraderie are the foundational pillars of the Silent Camera sound.
