Brief Management

Backstory:

Brief Management was born in the heart of bustling New York City in 2012. Its founding members, Jeremy “Jay” Gordon, a former paralegal turned bassist, and Sandy “Squibb” Reynolds, a marketing executive turned drummer, found themselves yearning for a creative outlet beyond their 9-to-5 jobs. They were later joined by frontwoman, Casey “CC” Clarke, an administrative assistant with a voice that could shake the stars. Together, they turned their shared love for music and a common frustration with corporate life into the pulse of their band.

Their first jam session in Sandy’s dimly lit basement turned into late-night songwriting bouts and impromptu gigs at local open mics. Their unique blend of lyrics, tinged with corporate jargon, and catchy tunes quickly started catching people’s attention. Their music was relatable for everyone stuck in a job they didn’t like, and yet, the rhythm was irresistible enough to make them forget their troubles and dance.

Title:

“Codes of Conduct”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em Am
Filing away my dreams in the cabinet,
C G
Trading my soul for suits and ties,
Em Am
Drowning in emails, calls, and documents,
C G
Lost in the codes of conduct, my spirit dies.

(Chorus)
C G
But we’re Brief Management, we’re the light,
Em Am
Through the days of toil and nights so tight,
C G
We’ve got the rhythm, we’ve got the fight,
Em Am
Coming alive in the moonlight.

(Verse 2)
Em Am
Running on caffeine, we are the night owls,
C G
Struggling to break free, seeking the wild,
Em Am
In the rhythm of our hearts, we find the howls,
C G
No longer tamed, no longer mild.

(Chorus)
C G
Yes, we’re Brief Management, we’re the flight,
Em Am
From the mundane, into the night,
C G
Our music’s the magic, our lyrics ignite,
Em Am
In this corporate jungle, we are the light.

Frankie’s Testimonial:

“Brief Management is more than just a band to me, they’re like the prophets of the corporate world. Every chord they strum, every word they sing; it’s like a rallying cry for us workaholics trapped in our cubicles. I’ve been a fan from their first basement gig and there’s something about their music that just sets my soul on fire. Their song ‘Codes of Conduct’ is my anthem – it’s raw, it’s real, it’s a eulogy for the corporate grind and a celebration of liberation! Brief Management isn’t just my favorite band, they’re my lifeline.”
