Backstory:
Formed in the heart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ‘Same Hammer’ is a quartet that fuses together a unique blend of sounds that has become their signature style. The foundation of the band was laid when college roommates, Pete and Mike, discovered their shared love for music in a late-night jam session. The duo soon expanded into a four-piece with the addition of Sarah on bass and Tom on drums. The name ‘Same Hammer’ was derived from an inside joke about their shared passion for carpentry and their belief in the power of music to build bridges and knock down walls.
Genre:
Same Hammer’s music can be best described as a mashup of Indie rock and folk music, with a hint of rustic blues. Their unique blend of genres has led to them being dubbed as “Indie Folk Blues” band.
Title:
“Silhouettes in the Rain”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1 – C G Am Em)
It’s late at night and I’m walking down,
This old road doesn’t make a sound,
Under the moon, with no one around,
Except for the silhouettes in the rain.
(Chorus – F C G C)
They dance and they sway, they don’t feel the pain,
Lost in the rhythm, they’ve got nothing to gain,
Oh, these silhouettes in the rain.
(Verse 2 – C G Am Em)
In their world, love’s not a game,
They hold each other, share the same name,
I watch and learn, I’ve got no shame,
From these silhouettes in the rain.
(Chorus – F C G C)
They dance and they sway, in their own lover’s lane,
So brave, so bold, they break every chain,
Oh, these silhouettes in the rain.
(Outro – C G Am Em)
As morning light begins to wane,
I see them fade, but I can’t complain,
I’ll be back, to see them again,
These silhouettes in the rain.

Their songs talk directly to my soul and make me feel understood. They’re not just musicians, they are poets with a melody. Their song ‘Silhouettes in the Rain’ in particular, always takes me to a different world. It’s my favorite because it captures the essence of love and longing so beautifully. Same Hammer is my favorite band simply because their music feels like home.”
