Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
In the depths of Dublin’s sorrow,
F (x1) Am (x1) G (x1) F (x1)
Beneath the grey and rain-soaked sky,
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
Two hearts blooming with youthful audacity,
F (x1) Am (x1) G (x1) F (x1)
Creating melodies that make the angels cry.
(Chorus)
C (x2) G (x1) Am (x1)
We find our mirth in misery,
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
Our solace in the pouring rain,
C (x2) G (x1) Am (x1)
In this aching competition,
F (x1) G (x1) Am (x1) F (x1)
We’re singing to soothe the pain.
(Verse 2)
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
Through the strife, we found our rhythm,
F (x1) Am (x1) G (x1) F (x1)
In the struggle, our voices grew.
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
An echo of our trials and triumphs,
F (x1) Am (x1) G (x1) F (x1)
In our songs, our story we’ll imbue.
(Chorus)
C (x2) G (x1) Am (x1)
Our mirth lies in our misery,
Am (x2) G (x1) F (x1)
Our comfort in the relentless rain,
C (x2) G (x1) Am (x1)
In this aching competition,
F (x1) G (x1) Am (x1) F (x1)
We’re singing to soothe the pain.
