Agonizing Skate

Backstory:
Agonizing Skate is a band that was born from the shared love of music and skateboarding of four childhood friends – Luke “The Shredder” Benson, Dave “Throttle” McGinty, Jerry “Fretboard” Donaldson, and Sam “Sticks” Malone – in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn. They met at a local skate park in their teenage years, where the grind of wheels against pavement and the rhythm of heartbeats fueled their adrenaline. This was the birthplace of their unique sound, an amalgamation of their high-energy lifestyles and the vibrant sights and sounds of their city. The band started as a hobby, playing at local skate competitions and parties, but their talent and charisma soon caught the attention of a big-name record company, propelling their hobby into a full-time career.

Genre:
Post-Punk Revival with a blend of Skate Punk.

Title:
“Concrete Jungle Serenade”

Lyrics:

Verse 1: (G, D, Em, C)
(G) Wheels spinning on the asphalt, (D) echo in the night,
(Em) We are the rebels of the concrete, (C) lost in city lights.
(G) Boards scraping, hearts racing, (D) we’re riding free,
(Em) Underneath the streetlights, (C) it’s where we want to be.

Chorus: (C, G, D, Em)
(C) Singing the concrete jungle serenade, (G) we own the night,
(D) Riding high on the rhythm, (Em) of our skatepunk life.
(C) We are the kings of the skatepark, (G) the rebels of the fight,
(D) With every grind and ollie, (Em) we set the night alight.

Verse 2: (G, D, Em, C)
(G) Asphalt under our wheels, (D) stars above our heads,
(Em) We are the conquerors of the night, (C) the living, the undead.
(G) The city streets, our battleground, (D) the skateboards, our swords,
(Em) We dance with danger, (C) we unspoken words.

Repeat Chorus

Favorite Fan:
Cindy “SkateRat” Martinez. She discovered Agonizing Skate during one of their early gigs at the local skate park and has been a die-hard fan since. She says, “Their music is like a thrilling ride down a half-pipe. It’s raw, rebellious, and resonates with the spirit of skate culture. Every beat, every chord reminds me of why I fell in love with skateboarding in the first place. Plus, they’re not just amazing musicians, they’re insane skaters too. They capture the feeling of freedom and rebellion that you get when you step on a board. Agonizing Skate isn’t just a band to me, it’s a lifestyle.”
