Backstory:
Born amid the urban decay and cultural melting pot that is Detroit, Michigan, Anxious Cemetery is a band that has emerged from the ashes of a city undergoing a rapid and tumultuous transformation. Its four members – lead vocalist and guitarist, Chad Kowalski, drummer, Lexi Thompson, bassist, Damien Alvarez, and keyboardist, Amelia Wu, met during their time at the Detroit School of Arts. Initially, they were just classmates who shared an interest in music, but after a spontaneous late-night jam session in an abandoned cemetery, they discovered a unique chemistry and a shared sense of musical vision. The exhilarating thrill yet eerie quietude of that impromptu performance inspired their name – Anxious Cemetery.
