Appropriate Autumn

Backstory:

Appropriate Autumn first began as a meet-cute at a farmer’s market in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. Theo, a gifted guitarist and songwriter, was playing acoustically for pocket change, and Marla, a cellist with a beautiful, haunting voice, was buying vegetables for her weekly meal prep. As Marla moved closer to the captivating music, the connection between the duo was instant. They decided to collaborate, and with the addition of Marla’s roommate, a percussionist named Anders, Appropriate Autumn was born. Their shared love for music, autumn, and the organic comfort that season brings, defined their unique sound and aesthetic.

Full Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Em G
I watch the sun as it dies,

Lost in your autumn eyes,

Leaves falling like my heart,
D G
From the love, we’ve let depart.

[Chorus]

Falling leaves, fading love,
D Em
Once as free as the dove,
C G
Lost in the cold, autumn breeze,
D Em
Our love falling like these leaves.

[Verse 2]
Em G
Autumn hues, our memories,
D A
Lost in the chilling breeze,
Em C
Our love, once ablaze,
D G
Now lost in the autumn haze.

Falling leaves, fading love,
D Em
Once as high as the dove,
C G
Now in the cold, autumn breeze,
D Em
Our love falling like these leaves.

Fan’s Testimonial:

Our biggest fan’s name is Sarah, a dedicated follower from the very start of our journey. Sarah says, “As a lover of the fall season and a firm believer in the therapeutic power of music, Appropriate Autumn is my favorite band. Their music is a perfect blend of melancholy and comfort, much like the season they’re named after. Their songs, especially ‘Falling Leaves, Fading Love,’ capture the transient beauty of autumn and the bittersweet emotions it brings. I’ve been to every one of their shows in Boston and their music always leaves me longing for more.”
