Backstory:
Artistic Desire was formed in 2012 by four friends based out of Brooklyn, New York. The band consists of lead singer and guitarist, Jackson Reid, drummer, Miles Davis, bassist, Liam Knight, and keyboardist, Sara Evans. Each member had been part of competitive local bands, but decided to join forces with a shared goal of creating something unique and impactful. They played small gigs at coffee houses and pubs, steadily garnering a devoted local fan base with their soulful performances and heart-rending lyrics.
After two years of performing locally, their unique sound caught the attention of a talent scout from an indie music label. Their debut album in 2014 was a critical success, leading them to national tours and music festivals. Artistic Desire’s music is a potent blend of their experiences, ambitions, and the invisible threads that bind people together, and their fans love them for it.
Genre:
Artistic Desire specializes in Indie Rock with a hint of Folk.
Title:
“Echoes in the Silence”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Sitting on the corner of a [D] broken dream
[Em] Wondering if you ever think of [C] me
[G] Words left unspoken, [D] secrets we keep
[Em] In the silence, do you hear my [C] heart weep?
(Chorus)
[G] Echoes in the silence, [D] whispers in the wind
[Em] I’m reaching out to you, [C] where have you been?
[G] Between reality and [D] what might have been,
[Em] Are just echoes in the silence, [C] echoes within.
(Verse 2)
[G] Time has a way of erasing [D] pain
[Em] But memories of you still [C] remain
[G] Amidst the noise and [D] the endless race,
[Em] In the silence, I still see your [C] face.
(Chorus)
[G] Echoes in the silence, [D] whispers in the night
[Em] Searching for a sign, [C] holding on too tight
[G] Fragments of a love, [D] lost out of sight,
[Em] Are just echoes in the silence, [C] echoes in the light.
