Austere Bedroom

Backstory:
Austere Bedroom was formed in the summer of 2011, in a small, quiet town in Nebraska. The band members, childhood friends Tom Rivers (lead vocals/guitar), Billy Thompson (bass), Andy Smith (drums), and Charlie Sullivan (keyboard), were all drawn together by their shared love for music and their mutual yearning to break free from their sleepy hometown. After many late-night jam sessions in Tom’s austere bedroom, the name was born and the band was set. With the release of their debut album in 2013, which was recorded in the same bedroom, Austere Bedroom demonstrated an uncanny ability to blend melancholic lyrics with melodious harmonies, quickly gaining a cult following.

Title:
“Paper Lanterns”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am – F – C – G
Under the moonlight, we’re dancing again,
Am – F – C – G
With the paper lanterns, swaying in the wind.
Am – F – C – G
Your silhouette’s a painting, I keep in my heart,
Am – F – C – G
In my austere bedroom, we’re never apart.

(Chorus)
Dm – Em – F – G
Oh, in the glow of paper lanterns,
Dm – Em – F – G
Our love was written in the stars,
Dm – Em – F – G
Caught in the hushed whispers of the night,
Dm – Em – F – G
In our austere bedroom, you’re my only light.

(Verse 2)
Am – F – C – G
Remember the nights, caught in sweet reverie,
Am – F – C – G
Underneath the blanket of stars, just you and me.
Am – F – C – G
In the quiet echoes, of our midnight tales,
Am – F – C – G
Our love outshines, every sunrise and dale.

(Repeat Chorus)
