Backstory:
Bogus Island was formed in a small town in Michigan by three estranged childhood friends: Mack, the lead vocalist and guitarist; Kia, the drummer; and Sam, the bass guitarist. They had grown up together, playing in their school band, but life took them on different paths. Mack pursued a career in law, Kia became a travel blogger, and Sam worked as a software engineer. However, the one thing that remained constant was their love for music. After a chance reunion at their high school’s 10-year reunion, the spark was reignited, and Bogus Island was born. The band’s name was inspired by a make-believe island they conceptualized as children, where they could escape from reality and just play music.
