Backstory:
Boring Earl came into existence in the late 1990s in the small town of Seville, Ohio. The band was initially formed by four high school friends, Earl Johnston (whom the band is named after), Jack Smith, Peter Anderson, and Roy Johnson. These four young men had one thing in common: a deep love for music. Earl became the lead vocalist and guitarist, Jack the drummer, Peter the bassist and Roy played the keyboard. They started playing in various local events, quickly gaining popularity in their town and surrounding areas. Some people called their music boring, primarily because it lacked the loud, in-your-face energy of mainstream music. But instead of feeling discouraged, they embraced the criticism and hence, “Boring Earl” was born.
