Backstory:

Both Stairs was formed on a rainy night in 2015 when two friends, Darren Hughes and Jared Thompson, found themselves sobbing their hearts out on two different staircases in a shared apartment building. Both were heartbroken, but they found solace in creating music together. Darren, a carpenter by day and musician by night, and Jared, a struggling poet, had known each other since high school, but that night they created something more than just friendship. They created Both Stairs, a band that poured their heartaches and hopes into music, resonating with the struggles of everyday people.

In the years that followed, Both Stairs went from performing at small bars in their hometown of Pittsburgh to selling out shows across the country. Their music, a mixture of raw emotions and authentic experiences, deeply connected with their listeners. The duo strongly believes that everyone climbs their own set of stairs in life and their music embodies this shared human experience.
