Backstory:
Breakable Painting was formed in the quaint city of Asheville, North Carolina, in 2012. The band’s core members, childhood friends Jamie Halloway (lead vocals, guitar) and Emma Stevens (drums, backup vocals), were passionate about expressing their feelings and thoughts through music. They found their third partner in crime, Lucas Hoffman (bass, keyboard), whilst performing at a local open mic night. Lucas, a New Yorker who moved down South, immediately clicked with Jamie and Emma. United by their love for profound lyrics and intricate melodies, they created Breakable Painting, a band that embodies vulnerability and strength, much like a painting that can shatter yet holds together beautifully.
Over the years, Breakable Painting has evolved into an influential force in the indie rock scene. They are known for their honest and heart-wrenching lyrics, paired with a blend of nostalgic and contemporary sounds. Their journey wasn’t always easy. There were numerous gigs with hardly anyone in the audience, but they pressed on, slowly building a loyal fan base.

Title: “Echoes in the Silence”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Em G D A
Painted words on a canvas, so clear,
Em G D A
Silent echoes that nobody hears,
Em G D A
Memories fading, like breakable art,
Em G D A
We’re just echoes in the silence, tearing us apart.
[Chorus]
Em G D A
Echoes in the silence, whispers in the dark,
Em G D A
Broken promises, a forgotten spark.
Em G D A
We’re just a painting, so fragile, so thin,
Em G D A
Echoes in the silence, lost in the din.
[Verse 2]
Em G D A
Shattered colors, scattered on the floor,
Em G D A
We’re not the masterpiece we were before,
Em G D A
Just like a breakable painting, we fade,
Em G D A
Echoes in the silence, of promises unmade.
[Chorus]
Em G D A
Echoes in the silence, whispers in the dark,
Em G D A
Broken promises, a forgotten spark.
Em G D A
We’re just a painting, so fragile, so thin,
Em G D A
Echoes in the silence, lost in the din.

Our favorite fan is a delightful soul named Sally Peterson. A native of Asheville, she’s been with us since those first nearly-empty gigs. Encouraging us, supporting us, and even helping us sell our merchandise, she’s a part of our journey.
