Backstory:
Buoyant Scale started as a trio of friends from the small coastal town of Morro Bay, California, who shared a deep love for music and the ocean. The original members, Jonah “Skipper” Morrison, Lucas “Lukey” Thompson, and Haley “Harmony” Wilson, spent their teenage years surfing during the day and playing music by the bonfire at night. Their sound was originally born from these beach bonfires, where they would improvise music inspired by the rhythm of the waves and the serenity of the night sky.

In college, they met multi-instrumentalist, “Riff” Rodriguez, who joined the band, adding his unique Latin jazz influences to their music. Despite being from diverse backgrounds and having different musical tastes, they found that their shared love for the ocean brought their music together in a unique and captivating way. They decided to name their band “Buoyant Scale”, symbolizing their light-hearted approach to life and their music’s ability to uplift and inspire.
