Backstory:

Carefree Appliance is a band that rose from the dusty corners of a cramped garage in Dayton, Ohio, circa 2005. Founding members, Kevin “Kettle” O’Brien and Simon “Toaster” Tate, were high school buddies trying to understand the world through their shared passion for music. They named their band Carefree Appliance as an ironic homage to their day jobs as repairmen where they spent hours fixing appliances; a far cry from the carefree image they were trying to evoke. After two years of recruiting from the local scene and honing their sound, they welcomed eccentric drummer, “Fridge” Fred Walton and multi-instrumentalist, “Microwave” Mike Thompson, to their lineup. These additional members brought in fresh perspectives, helping the band evolve and solidify their unique identity.
