Cheap Individual

Backstory:
Cheap Individual is a band that sprouted from the industrial heart of Cleveland, Ohio. The group, consisting of four childhood friends – Tom Brickle (lead vocals and bass), Jeremy Eggerton (guitar), Josh Brent (keyboards, backing vocals), and Mike Peterson (drums) – initially started by playing covers in their parents’ garages, at school gatherings, and basements of dorms in the early 2000s. As they matured, so did their music, and they ultimately found their unique sound, a fusion of grunge, punk, and electronic elements. After years of hard work and dedication, they released their debut album in 2012 which gained considerable attention and allowed them to hit the music scene with a bang.

Title:
“Caged in Freedom”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
G C G D
How are we living, while we’re only surviving,
G C G D
In a world so cold, where the truth’s always hiding,
G C G D
Trapped in this cage, with freedom our illusion,
G C G D
In this age, it’s a chaotic infusion.

(Chorus)
A C D G
Caged in freedom, living life in a lie,
A C D G
Chasing dreams, under the city night sky,
A C D G
Are we awake, or just sleepwalking by,
A C D G
In this world, where even sunlight seems sly.

(Verse 2)
G C G D
We’re the Cheap Individuals, in a high-priced society,
G C G D
Playing our tunes, in pursuit of variety,
G C G D
Strumming the chords, singing our rebellion,
G C G D
Against injustice, we’re a legion.

(Chorus)
A C D G
Caged in freedom, lost in the crowd,
A C D G
Raising voices, that are loud and proud,
A C D G
Breaking chains, we’re wild and unbound,
A C D G
In this world, where true spirits are found.

Fan Testimonial:

The band’s favorite fan is 23-year-old Marianne Thompson. Marianne, a graphic design student, has followed the band since their initial days. According to her, “Cheap Individual isn’t just a band; it’s a movement. Their music speaks of realities that most of us are afraid to confront. Their energy, their raw talent, and their fearless lyrics resonate with me on a deeper level. They represent the spirit of our generation – young, restless, and eager to challenge norms. They’re my favorite because their music isn’t just tunes to my ears, it’s the voice of my soul.”
