Backstory:
Chief Net got its start in the heart of Silicon Valley during the mid-2010s. Founders, keyboardist Dave “Data” Thompson and drummer Joey “Java” Welch, were both software engineers by day, who found solace in music amidst the constant hustle and grind of the tech industry. Spotting a gap in the music scene, they decided to fuse their love for technology with their passion for music to create a unique sound that broke barriers. Soon, guitarist Sally “Syntax” Norman and bassist Paul “Pixel” Hartley joined the band, and the quartet began to make waves in the local music scene.
Their musical journey was not without struggles, including the infamous “Blackout Gig” where they lost power in the middle of their first major show. But these experiences only made them stronger, evolving their sound, and strengthening their bond. They’ve since gained a reputation for their stirring live performances and innovative music, which resonates with tech enthusiasts and music lovers alike.
