Backstory:
Clear-Cut Interval, an indie rock band, was formed in the small town of Portland, Oregon in 2008. The band members, consisting of childhood friends Joel Carter (vocals/guitar), Emma Davis (bass), Mike Thompson (drums), and Natalie James (keyboard) discovered their shared love for music during their high school years. They started off by performing at local bars, school events, and charity functions. Their unique blend of harmonic elements and raw rock sound propelled them into the limelight and got them a record deal with an independent label in Seattle.
The band’s success story is grounded in the emotional bond between its members and their audience. Clear-Cut Interval’s music is a reflection of their shared experiences, aspirations, and the art of finding beauty in life’s chaos. With their unpretentious and heartfelt lyrics, they’ve managed to form a special connection with their fans that goes beyond the music.

Title:
“Shadows of Yesterday”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
G C G D
Gathered around the fire, we used to play,
Em C G D
In the shadows of yesterday.
G C G D
Oh, how time has taken its toll,
Em C G D
Leaving memories in the heart of our souls.
(Chorus)
G C G D
In the shadows of yesterday,
Em C G D
We find the light of today.
G C G D
No matter how far we may stray,
Em C G D
We’re bound by the shadows of yesterday.
(Verse 2)
G C G D
Growing up in a world of dreams,
Em C G D
Nothing was ever what it seems.
G C G D
But in the heart of a child’s play,
Em C G D
Lies the shadows of yesterday.
(Chorus)
G C G D
In the shadows of yesterday,
Em C G D
We find the light of today.
G C G D
No matter how far we may stray,
Em C G D
We’re bound by the shadows of yesterday.
