Coarse Man

Backstory:

Coarse Man emerged from the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas, in the early 2000s. The core of the band revolves around childhood friends, lead singer Kent “Rusty” Hudson and guitarist Jake “J.D.” Daniels. The two grew up together on the gritty streets of East Austin, where they found solace in the soulful strumming of their guitars. It was the harsh realities of their upbringing that gave birth to the band’s unique sound and name – Coarse Man. Joined by drummer Sarah “Spike” Thompson and bassist Noah “Noodle” Peters, they began their musical journey in the local bars and clubs, eventually making their way into the national spotlight with their raw, soulful tunes.

“Grains of Truth”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Down the dusty roads of my [C] past,
[D] Memories forged in iron, built to [G] last.
[G] I’ve seen the darkest nights, felt the [C] coldest rain,
[D] But like a coarse man, I rose again.

(Chorus)
[G] Grains of truth, [C] in the palm of my hand,
[D] Life’s hard lessons, [G] made me a man.
[G] I walk this earth, with [C] scars unseen,
[D] But they’re the making of this [G] coarse man’s dream.

(Verse 2)
[G] Love came around, like a [C] summer’s breeze,
[D] Swept me off my feet, [G] brought me to my knees.
[G] She was a wildflower, I was [C] rough terrain,
[D] Together we danced, in joy and [G] pain.

(Chorus)
[G] Grains of truth, [C] in the palm of my hand,
[D] Love’s sweet torture, [G] made me a man.
[G] I walk this path, with [C] memories so keen,
[D] They’re the heartbeat of this [G] coarse man’s dream.

Favorite Fan:

Tommy “Twister” Harrison is undeniably Coarse Man’s most dedicated fan. He’s been following the band since their early days and boasts a collection of their every record, tour t-shirt, and even a few guitar picks tossed his way from the stage. Tommy says, “Coarse Man’s sound resonated with me from the moment I first heard them. Their music tells a story, it’s raw and gritty, but there’s a soulfulness that touches you. It’s kind of like life itself, you know? It’s rough and tough, but there’s also beauty and hope in it. That’s what I love about Coarse Man, they capture the essence of life in their music.”
