Backstory:
The formation of the band “Complex Humour” was anything but ordinary. They first crossed paths at a local comedy club’s open mic night in the heart of Chicago. Kevin, a stand-up comedian, and Amie, a cartoonist who also happened to be a trained pianist, were looking for ways to make their performances more engaging. They found a shared love of music, comedy, and satire, which they believed could be the missing piece of their puzzle. They decided to combine their talents and formed the band “Complex Humour” in 2013. The addition of Max on drums and Elias on bass, both equally passionate about unconventional humor, turned this duo into a quartet.
Their journey together has been a rollercoaster ride, with each performance outdoing the previous one. Their unique blend of music and comedy has resonated well with their audience, making them a beloved act within a short span of time. They have used their platform to spread laughter and happiness, while also tackling some important societal issues through their complex humor layered within their lyrics.
