Title:
“Corporate Lullaby”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verses)
Em C
Wake up, suit up, it’s a brand new day,
G D
Another dollar, another dismay.
Em C
Coffee’s black, just like my tie,
G D
In the mirror, who am I?
(Chorus)
Em C
Oh, it’s a corporate lullaby,
G D
Echos of dreams as they pass by.
Em C
But in my heart, a melody,
G D
Of freedom that’s waiting for me, oh me.
(Verse)
Em C
Elevator’s crowded, but I’m all alone,
G D
Another memo, another drone.
Em C
Clock’s ticking, seconds slide,
G D
In this cubicle, where dreams died.
(Chorus)
Em C
Sing me a corporate lullaby,
G D
A symphony of sighs under the office sky.
Em C
Yet in my soul, a rebel song,
G D
sings of a place where I belong.
Fan Testimonial:
The band’s favorite fan is a man named Terry. Terry is a sixty-year-old janitor who discovered Composed Salary’s music while cleaning a local venue after one of their gigs. He says, “I’ve heard many bands in my time, but none tell the story of the working man quite like Composed Salary. Their music hits home, it’s like they’re singing about my life. After long hours, their songs give me comfort, hope and the courage to dream again. They’re more than just a band to me, they’re like my comrades. I’ve followed them around Texas and will continue to do so. That’s why they’re my favorite band, and always will be.”
