Backstory:
Born from the heartland of Minneapolis, Conscious Design was formed in 2015 by four university friends – lead singer/guitarist Jack Meyers, drummer Jake Lu, bassist Sarah Donnelly, and keyboardist Max Ito. The bandmates were all studying different fields – from design to psychology, but their shared love for music brought them together. The band’s name was inspired by their common interest in the intersection of art, design, and human consciousness. With the aim of making music that would not only entertain but also stimulate thought and provoke a deeper understanding of the world around us, Conscious Design began their journey.
Their journey started in local gigs and college festivals and slowly escalated to regional tours. Their unique sound, a blend of intellectual lyrics and melodic tunes, quickly garnered attention, and they soon signed with an indie record label. The band has released two albums to date, each echo their name – the thoughtful design in their music and an awareness of the world around them.
