Hailing from the eclectic streets of San Francisco, California, Cultivated Sugar was born out of a shared passion for music and an old sugar mill. The four members, lead vocalist Jake Marsden, guitarist Lily Bennett, bassist Ethan Roberts, and drummer Kai Mitchell, all crossed paths working at the now-defunct mill. One day, they discovered an old piano hidden away in a dusty corner. Inspired by their environment and shared experiences, they began expressing themselves through music. Before they knew it, Cultivated Sugar was formed.

Music was their escape from the daily grind, a way to channel their dreams, hopes, and frustrations. Their songs are a unique blend of their shared experiences and individual stories, a raw mix of emotion that fans resonate with. Despite starting as a pastime during lunch breaks, Cultivated Sugar’s music has now reached far beyond the mill’s walls, sweeping the local music scene and gaining recognition on a national level.
