Backstory:
Cumbersome Bird was born out of the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas in the mid-2000s. It was formed by childhood friends Jack Matheson and Ethan Laramie, two self-taught musicians who shared a passion for songwriting and a rebellious spirit. Their early gigs in local bars and small music festivals were marked by their high energy performances and raw, emotive lyrics. With the addition of drummer, Lucy Henderson and bassist, Mark Cohen, their sound evolved from an acoustic duo into a dynamic, eclectic mix that defied easy categorization.
