Backstory:
‘Damaged Map’ was formed in 2008, in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois. The founding members, Ted (Lead Vocals), Mike (Guitar), and Sarah (Drums), all bonded over their love for music and their shared experience of growing up in the same neighborhood, where they were constantly surrounded by different music styles. After countless garage jam sessions, they decided to form a band, aiming to give a fresh voice to the music industry. They later added a fourth member, Rachel (Bass), who added an essential nuance to their music.

Title:
“Rivers in the Desert”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em C
Just like a damaged map, I’m lost, I’m off the grid
G D
I’m sailing without a compass, doing what I did
Em C
Looking for a lighthouse, in the sea of despair
G D
But all I see is darkness, everywhere
(Chorus)
Em C
Rivers in the desert, stars in the night
G D
I’m searching for a meaning, in the corners of my mind
Em C
Can’t find the route to happiness, can’t find the road to joy
G D
All I have is this damaged map, and a heart that’s void
(Bridge)
Em C
Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places
G D
Searching for smiles in the empty spaces
Em C
But even with this damaged map, I’ll find my way
G D
To the river in the desert, someday
(Chorus)
Em C
Rivers in the desert, stars in the night
G D
I’m searching for a meaning, in the corners of my mind
Em C
Can’t find the route to happiness, can’t find the road to joy
G D
All I have is this damaged map, and a heart that’s void
