Delayed Controversy

Backstory:

Delayed Controversy was born out of the bustling and dynamic music scene of Seattle, back in 2009. The founding members, childhood friends Jessie Lloyd (lead vocals and guitar) and Josh Collins (drums), started out playing in their respective basements, their musical expression heavily influenced by the grunge era they grew up in, combined with an underlying love for folk and alternative rock. After years of creating music in obscurity, they were discovered by a local radio DJ, who kick-started their journey by playing one of their earliest songs on air. The band now includes Nia Rodriguez on bass and Daniel ‘Danny’ Harkin on keyboards.

Genre:

Delayed Controversy’s music can be best described as Alternative Rock blended with Folk undertones.

Title:

“One Last Reverie”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1 – Am, G, D)
Am G D
Beneath the city’s crimson haze
Am G D
We whispered promises, betrayed
Am G D
Silhouettes dance, mocking our floor
Am G D
We aren’t who we were before

(Chorus – C, Em, Am)
C Em Am
One last reverie, let it be free
C Em Am
The air tastes of our shared memory
C Em Am
Tonight we end this beautiful lie
C Em Am
One last reverie, under the sky

(Verse 2 – Am, G, D)
Am G D
Words unsaid, trapped in our throats
Am G D
In your eyes, a distant hope floats
Am G D
Shadows grow long, the night unfurls
Am G D
In our hands, the crumbled world

(Chorus – C, Em, Am)
C Em Am
One last reverie, in our hearts’ sea
C Em Am
The silence sings of our broken decree
C Em Am
Tonight we mourn what our hands pry
C Em Am
One last reverie, a final goodbye

Fan Testimonial:

“My name is Emily Pearson, and I am, without a doubt, Delayed Controversy’s biggest fan. Their music resonates with me on such a deep level, it’s like they’ve somehow tapped into the soundtrack of my life. Their lyrics are profound and thought-provoking, combined with their unique blend of Alternative Rock and Folk, it’s something that’s never been done before. I remember the first time I heard “One Last Reverie”, it moved me to tears. The raw emotion in Jessie’s voice coupled with the haunting melody just gets to me every single time. They are my favorite band because they’re not afraid to venture into the unexplored terrains of music, to create something truly unique and beautiful.”
