Backstory:
Dependable Patient was born out of a friendship that spanned over two decades. The members, Cynthia “Cyn” Duvall (vocals, guitar) and Kurt “KJ” Jenkins (drums, vocals), met in a small town hospital in Idaho, where Cynthia’s mother was a nurse and Kurt’s father was a doctor. Growing up in such a unique environment, they naturally found solace in music as a way to escape from the mundane. They bonded over their shared love for rock music and began playing in a garage when they were just teenagers. After many years of sharing their passion and honing their skills, they decided to take their love for music to the next level and formed Dependable Patient.
Decades later, Dependable Patient has won the hearts of many with their powerful performances and authentic sound. Their music, often inspired by their unique upbringing, reflects the realities of life, love, and the human condition. The band’s name, a nod to their roots, represents their unswerving dedication to their craft and the patience required to truly master it.

“Sutures and Songs”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] She’s got a heart made of sutures and songs
[Em] Wrapped in a melody, it can do no wrong
[C] Born in a hospital, [D] raised in the wild
[G] She sings like an angel, with a devil’s child
(Chorus)
[G] Sutures and Songs, [Em] life’s twisted dance
[C] We’re just trying to find a [D] fleeting chance
[G] Our hearts are broken, but [Em] our souls are strong
[C] Bound by the rhythm, in the [D] Dependable Patient’s song
(Verse 2)
[G] He’s got a rhythm, as [Em] steady as a surgeon’s hand
[C] Navigating life, in a [D] rock and roll band
[G] His drum’s his heartbeat, a [Em] stethoscope his guide
[C] He finds his salvation, in the [D] music’s tide
(Chorus)
[G] Sutures and Songs, [Em] life’s twisted dance
[C] We’re just trying to find a [D] fleeting chance
[G] Our hearts are broken, but [Em] our souls are strong
[C] Bound by the rhythm, in the [D] Dependable Patient’s song
Favorite Fan Testimonial:
My name is Sarah Gibson, and I am Dependable Patient’s biggest fan. Their music resonates with me on a deep emotional level. The raw intensity of Cyn’s voice paired with KJ’s steady rhythm is a perfect harmony of chaos and calm. The lyrics of their songs are like stories from my own life. To me, Dependable Patient is more than just a band, it’s a community of people who understand the delicate balance between pain and healing. They remind us that, just like a dependable patient, we need to have patience and trust in the recovery process, be it from heartbreak or hardship. They are my favorite band because their music isn’t just something to listen to, it’s something to live by.
