Backstory:

Dependent Milk came into existence in 2008 when childhood friends Steve Riggs (lead vocals, guitar) and Marc Howard (drums) reunited after college. Riggs, who had earned a degree in music theory, and Howard, who was a self-taught drummer, decided to collaborate on a project that was a departure from the mainstream music scene. They recruited Elise Lopez (bass) and Simon Drake (keyboard), two talented musicians they met during a local music festival in their hometown of Minneapolis, to round out their lineup. Despite their diverse musical backgrounds, the quartet found common ground in their shared love for experimental sounds and the desire to push boundaries. Since their formation, Dependent Milk has become known for their unique, genre-blurring sound and captivating live performances.
