Backstory:

Difficult Emperor originated from the bustling city of Manchester, England. The band consists of four members: vocalist/guitarist Liam Colchester, lead guitarist Conor Gallagher, bassist Ed Milton, and drummer Henry Blake. The quartet was formed in 2003 during their college years, brought together by a shared love of music and aspirations to create something that would transcend time and inspire generations to come. Their journey started by playing at local bars and pubs, eventually working their way up to local music festivals, and then onto international tours.

Difficult Emperor is best known for their unique brand of Alternative Rock, blended with a touch of Psychedelic and Progressive elements. Their sound is marked by complex guitar riffs, nuanced drum patterns, and Colchester’s cryptic and poetic lyrics, all of which have become their signature style.

Our favorite fan is Sarah Chapman. Sarah has been with us since our earliest gigs in Manchester. Amidst the crowd, her enthusiasm and support have always been a beacon for us. She once shared, “Difficult Emperor is more than a band for me. Their music resonates with my soul and their lyrics often feel as if they’re speaking directly to me.
