Dimwitted Hair

Backstory:
Formed in a cramped, graffiti-sprayed garage in the heart of Brooklyn, Dimwitted Hair came to life. The band comprises four childhood friends- Jerry on vocals and rhythm guitar, Phil on lead guitar, Bob on drums, and Mickey handling bass. Jerry and Phil, having grown up in a musical household, began their journey playing Beatles covers at school assemblies. Once Bob and Mickey joined, the quartet started experimenting with their sound, creating a unique blend of classic rock and post-punk, marking their distinct footprints in the local music scene.

Despite being criticized initially for their unconventional music style and band name, Dimwitted Hair embraced their unique identity, forging their path with the mantra, “unapologetically ourselves.” Their music speaks to the misfits, the ones dared to be different, and the ones who lived life on their own terms. Since their inception, Dimwitted Hair has gained a dedicated fan base with their raw energy, heartfelt lyrics, and unfiltered authenticity.

Title:
“Rebel in Grey”

Song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am G D
Lost in the city, painted in grey,
Living life, in his own way,
Never paid heed, to what they say,
He is the rebel, lost in the fray.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
Rebel in grey, living on his own,
Rebel in grey, his spirit never worn,
Rebel in grey, he wears his scorn,
Rebel in grey, a legend born.

(Verse 2)
Am G D
Walking with shadows, under the moon,
Strumming life, on his own tune,
Defeating fears, every afternoon,
He’s the rebel, blooming under the June.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
Rebel in grey, a soul untorn,
Rebel in grey, in love forlorn,
Rebel in grey, in silence he mourns,
Rebel in grey, in pain he soars.

Billy, the self-proclaimed number one fan of Dimwitted Hair, has seen the band play in every local bar, festival, and basement available. Billy shares, “Their music speaks to me on a personal level. Jerry’s lyrics are like pages ripped from my diary. ‘Rebel in Grey’ is my anthem; it captures my very essence. The way they blend classic rock with post-punk speaks volumes about their versatility. They’re unafraid, unabashed, and unapologetically themselves, just like their music. That’s why Dimwitted Hair will always be my favorite band.”
