Dopey Leather

Backstory:
Dopey Leather was born in the back alleys of Seattle in 2008. Each member had been part of other musical acts that had imploded due to creative differences, leaving them disillusioned and ready to call it quits. Fate had other plans, bringing them together during an open mic night at a local dive bar. Their shared love for unconventional sounds, leather jackets, and satirical lyrics tied them together as a band, with their name being a nod to the very thing that united them.

Their journey was not easy – they battled obscurity, lack of funds, and time and again, their own insecurities. But, they persevered, honing their unique sound, putting their hearts into every lyric, and pouring their souls into every performance. Their music resonated with people who felt just as misunderstood as they did. Today, Dopey Leather has a loyal fanbase that resonates with their heartfelt lyrics, raw energy, and unapologetic individuality.

Title:
“Grit in the Rain”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em C
Rain washed streets, cold and bare,
G D
Lost in the city’s unforgiving glare.
Em C
Shadows dance, spirits roam,
G D
This pockmarked alley, our only home.

(Chorus)
Em C
Grit in the rain, we stand,
G D
Against the world, hand in hand.
Em C
Leather-bound hearts, never to wane,
G D
We are the grit in the rain.

(Verse 2)
Em C
Scars too deep, wounds won’t heal,
G D
Yet in our pain, we find our zeal.
Em C
Chasing dreams, we stake our claim,
G D
We are the grit, beneath the rain.

(Chorus)
Em C
Grit in the rain, we stand,
G D
Against the world, hand in hand.
Em C
In love, in loss, in joy, in pain,
G D
We are the grit in the rain.
