Backstory:
Double Earth was born in the heart of Detroit, Michigan, in the midst of the city’s post-industrial renaissance. The band’s founding members, vocalist Molly Howard and guitarist Jack Blackwell, met at an open mic night in a rusty but beloved local bar. They bonded over shared dreams of a better world, their love for Detroit’s history, and a mutual appreciation for rock and blues. Joined later by bassist Isaac Jones and drummer Kyle Brooks, the quartet set out to use their music as a vehicle for social commentary, delivering their messages wrapped in infectious rhythms and powerful melodies.
Their journey began in the local bars and clubs of Detroit, where they captured the hearts of many with their irresistible energy and soulful sound. The band’s reputation quickly spread beyond the city, leading to performances at major festivals and a record deal. Despite their success, Double Earth remains rooted in their hometown and committed to their mission of inspiring change through their music.

“Rhythm of Resistance”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Intro]
Em G D A (x2)
[Verse 1]
Em G
In the heart of the city, beneath the neon lights,

You can feel the rhythm, the rhythm of the night.

It pulses in the steel, hums in the smoke,
D A
An anthem for the people, a beacon of hope.

It’s the rhythm of resistance,
G A Em
The heartbeat of our existence.
C D A
In the silence, in the noise,
Em G D A
We found our voice.
[Verse 2]
Em G
We come from the dust, from the rust and grime,
D A
Carved our story in the sands of time.
Em G
In the echoes of the factories, the alleyways and bars,
D A
We found our melody, we counted the stars.
[Chorus]
C D Em
It’s the rhythm of resistance,
G A Em
The heartbeat of our existence.
C D A
In the silence, in the noise,
Em G D A
We found our voice.
[Bridge]
C D Em
In the struggle, in the fight,
G A Em
We hold on tight.
C D A
With every beat, with every sound,
Em G D A
We stand our ground.
[Chorus]
C D Em
It’s the rhythm of resistance,
G A Em
The heartbeat of our existence.
C D A
In the silence, in the noise,
Em G D A
We found our voice.
[Outro]
C D Em
We are Double Earth,
G A Em
We are worth, we are free,
C D A
In the silence, in the noise,
Em G D A
We’ve found our voice.

Testimonial:
“My name is Tommy Sullivan and I’ve been a fan of Double Earth ever since I first heard them at a local bar five years ago. Their music, particularly their hit “Rhythm of Resistance”, has a way of speaking to my soul. It’s not just the melodies or the infectious rhythms, it’s the way they capture the spirit of our city, our struggles, and our hopes. It’s like they’re telling our story. Their music is a reminder that no matter how tough things get, we are strong, we are resilient, and we can make a difference. And that’s why they’re my favorite band.”
