Drafty Hour

Backstory:
Drafty Hour hails from the eclectic music scene of Austin, Texas. The band formed in the winter of 2013 when frontman, Kurt Riley, a barista with a penchant for songwriting, teamed up with regular customer and drummer, Joaquin ‘Quin’ Chavez, a graphic designer with a hidden talent for rhythmic innovation. The duo was later joined by bassist, Ava Harper, a music teacher who brought her classical training and jazz sensibility to the mix. The trio bonded over their shared love of music and coffee, spending countless hours in their favorite café writing, planning and dreaming, thus, the name ‘Drafty Hour’ was born. They may have started as a makeshift band playing to a small, coffee-fueled crowd, but their unique sound and lyrical depth soon captured a wider audience.
