Dreary Bridge

Backstory:

Dreary Bridge is an eclectic union of four friends who came together in the midst of the bustling Seattle in 2010. The band members, led by charismatic lead singer and guitarist Jamison “Jamie” McRae, include bassist Dominic “Dom” Michaels, drummer Zachary “Zach” Strickland, and keyboardist and violinist Sabrina “Bri” Chen. Jamie and Dom were high school friends who met Zach at a local music open mic night. Sabrina, a classically trained violinist, met the trio in a coffee shop where they were performing. Impressed by her talent and unique sound, they invited her to join the band, and Dreary Bridge came into existence. Their shared love for music and a desire to tell their stories led them to create soul-stirring music which resonates with their fans.

Title:

“Shadows of Yesterday”

Full song lyrics:

(VERSE 1)
[G] Remember the time [D] when we were young,
[Em] Lost in the dreams [C] where we belong.
[G] The sun was brighter [D] then, the wind was our song,
[Em] But those days [C] are gone.

(CHORUS)
[C] Shadows of yesterday, [G] haunting my dreams,
[D] Echoes of laughter, [Em] now silent screams.
[C] Whispers of love, [G] lost in the fray,
[D] All I have [Em] are shadows of yesterday.

(VERSE 2)
[G] We danced in the moonlight, [D] under the stars so bright,
[Em] Swore by the river, [C] that we’ll never part.
[G] But life took a turn, [D] you’re now miles away,
[Em] All I have [C] are shadows of yesterday.

— Repeat Chorus —

Amy’s Testimonial:

“I’ve been a huge fan of Dreary Bridge since their early days. Their music speaks to my soul in a way no other band has ever managed to. ‘Shadows of Yesterday’ is my favorite song. It’s as if they’ve put my feelings into words. Jamie’s powerful vocals, Dom’s bass, Zach’s drum beats, and Sabrina’s soulful violin set the perfect mood for the song. The lyrics tell a story of lost love and reminiscence that’s so beautifully heart-breaking. Their music has helped me through some difficult times and I feel a deep connection with their songs. Dreary Bridge isn’t just a band to me, they’re my beacon in the dark.”
