Backstory:

Dull Excuse was formed in the late ’90s in the heart of Manchester, England. The founding members, Jamie Smith and Rick Avery, met at a local music shop where they both worked part-time. They discovered a mutual love for gritty, thought-provoking music and decided to start making their own beats after their shifts. They later added bassist, Charlie Clarke, and drummer, Danny Preston, to complete the band. “Dull Excuse” was born from a phrase Jamie’s father often used, claiming his son’s music was a “dull excuse for noise.”
