Backstory:
Earnest Punishment was formed in the hallowed halls of a somber, all-boys academy in Portland, Oregon, in the mid-90s. The founding members, Carl Waverly and Gavin Stringer, were both expelled for their rebellious acts. As a form of expression and escape, they turned to music and found solace in their shared love for melancholic and thought-provoking tunes, hence giving birth to Earnest Punishment. They believe that their music is a catharsis for them and a voice for those who feel unheard and misunderstood. After the recruitment of drummer Ray Cepeda and bassist Ethan Hawkins, the band was complete and ready to rock the world.

Title:
“Days of Solitude”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Em] Walking down the [G] path less tread,
[D] Lost in thoughts [A] inside my head.
[Em] Shadow of the [G] past so gaunt,
[D] In these days of [A] solitude I haunt.
(Chorus)
[C] Days of [G] solitude, I’m [D] lost in you.
[Em] Burdened heart, [G] painted in hues of [D] blue.
[C] Words unspoken, [G] promises broken.
[D] In my silent [A] screams, Earnest [Em] Punishment, it seems.
(Verse 2)
[Em] Through the glass [G] pane I stare,
[D] Seeking solace, [A] finding despair.
[Em] Echoes of the [G] love once bright,
[D] Now dimmed in the [A] labyrinth of night.
(Chorus)
[C] Days of [G] solitude, I’m [D] drowning in you.
[Em] Prisoner of past, [G] covered in layers of [D] rue.
[C] Dreams shattered, [G] faith battered.
[D] The reflection in the [A] mirror, Earnest [Em] Punishment, in terror.
(Outro)
[C] Days of [G] solitude, I’m [D] lost, it’s true.
[Em] But in this pain, [G] I’ll find a me that’s [D] new.
[C] From the ashes, [G] a phoenix ascends,
[D] It’s not the end, [A] but where the journey [Em] extends.
