Backstory:
Elaborate Horse was formed in the winter of 2007 in the lively city of San Francisco. The band was born from the ashes of several local punk groups, when lead vocalist Jay “Rider” Thornton and drummer Max “Clydesdale” Reynolds decided to experiment with a new sound. They recruited bassist Lila “Mustang” Sanchez and guitarist Ryan “Stallion” Mitchell to their cause. Together, they found a style that was distinct and innovative, a fresh take on classic rock ‘n’ roll with a twist of modern alternative. The band’s name, Elaborate Horse, was an inside joke that stuck, which they feel embodies their playful yet intricate approach to music.
